Dr. Isaac Horton

Dr. Isaac Horton has 25 years of experience in technology, patents, international business and finance. After beginning his career as a pharmaceutical drug designer for the Dupont Company, he is both an accomplished scientist and entrepreneur.

His companies, including Remote Light, Inc. where he is Chairman and CEO, have more than 140 issued patents. Remote Light’s technology has been featured in such places as Disney’s theme parks, The New York Stock Exchange, Tiffany & Company, two NFL Super Bowl half-time shows, the MSNBC Studio, the Shanghai Doom Entertainment Center and many more. The company’s products have won many national awards including Product of the Year from the largest entertainment lighting organization as well as the Application of the Year Award and Innovator of the Year Award from the International Association of Lighting Designers.

Dr. Horton is also the founder and Managing Partner of Scientific Production Ventures LLC, a business consulting group. Scientific Production Ventures recently developed a multi-billion dollar pipeline of utility-scale solar power investment opportunities on brownfields, which will serve as a new business for Cherokee Investment Partners, a $1.5 billion private equity fund and the world’s leading investor in brownfields.

He recently co-founded and is Chairman of The EcoChannel, LLC, a new business focused on energy management as a currency for consumers. As a winner of the 2009 Energy Innovation Award from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, The EcoChannel provides homeowners with a unique opportunity to reduce their energy consumption by up to 20%, realize immediate cash savings and receive monetary value from conservation in the form of EcoMoney. The introductory product, the EcoInterface, which starts the EcoEngine, is financed with a patented financial instrument that requires no upfront cash from the homeowner.

Dr. Horton has successfully raised capital from sources around the world, including the Quantum Fund/George Soros, Consolidated Edison of New York, Progress Energy, eight Hedge Funds, The Malaysian Government, Lucky Gold Star, China Trust of Taiwan and Hong Kong Tobacco. Dr. Horton has purchased four companies, both domestic and international.

As an active community member, he has served or serves on many boards, such as the Board of Visitors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; the Education Committee for the Board of the American Chemical Society; the Steering Committee for the Urban Education Initiative of the National Science Foundation; a National Board Member of the National Organization of Black Chemist and Chemical Engineers; the Board of Directors and Investment Committee at Shaw University; the Board of Directors of Ravenscroft School; and the Board of Directors of the Incubator, sponsored by the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Horton completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his doctoral degree in chemistry from Indiana University.
